3D Technology Checklist

This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires:

	A Display First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.
	A Source Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.
	3D Content 3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.
	3D Glasses For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands.
	HDMI Cable To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality.

How to Guide - Connecting Your Laptop to Hdtv Or Tv

I'm writing this guide after being asked a few times on ways to join together a laptop to a Tv. Habitancy want to achieve this for some reasons. First, it's great for presentations at work, school, or home. It's also convenient for viewing pictures and videos to friends, watching Dvds, and it is now even being used for viewing Blu-ray and other high definition content on the Hdtv.

First, we want to make sure you're getting the most out of your laptop when it comes to displaying it on the Tv.

Vizio Audio Problems

If you have an Hdtv with Hdmi inputs, check if your laptop has an Hdmi output. If it does, you're in luck! Your Hdtv can display from your laptop in Hd resolutions. All you need is an Hdmi cable to join together them. If your Hdtvs Hdmi inputs are used up already. An Hdmi switch would be the best clarification for you. We supply switches that can join together up to 5 separate Hdmi sources to 1 Hdmi input.
If you don't have an Hdmi yield on the laptop, check if it has a Dvi output. Some Asus, and Dell laptops have them. If you do, you can join together your laptop to an Hdtv with an Hdmi to Dvi cable. They are both digital cables so this will furnish the same Hd resolutions as a appropriate Hdmi cable.
If your laptop doesn't have Hdmi or Dvi out, it should have a Vga output. Connecting with Vga is capable of high resolutions. However, separate Tvs preserve separate resolutions with Vga. You must check the maximum resolution your Tv model supports with Vga.
Pretty much all laptops come with an S-Video output. It's not going to be as great of a picture, but it will unmistakably do the job with an S-Video cable.

Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?

With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience.

If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.

Minimum size = Viewing distance/3
Maximum size=Viewing distance/1.5

After you have associated your chosen cable, boot up your laptop and see if it has detected your Tv. If not, you have to go into your display properties and look for the settings that will enable your Tv to display from your laptop. Where to find the setting will vary depending on your graphics card (just look around). If you are having problem getting your Tv to show a picture, make sure you have updated the display drivers on your laptop. Now you're probably going to want sound from something other than your laptop speakers. So you can choose to yield it to your Tv, or blast it from your home theater audio receiver.

The best way to join together audio to your Tv or receiver is through a digital audio cable. Both a digital coaxial cable or Toslink optical audio cable will work great for crisp high potential audio. Just make sure your laptop has whether a digital coaxial or an optical audio output. Some laptops use the headphone jack to double as a digital coaxial (S/Pdif) output. If you use this method, your going to need a 3.5mm to Rca adapter with a digital coaxial cable. If your laptop has none of these outputs and you still unmistakably want that high potential sound. Don't worry! You can still get an external (Usb) sound card that has digital coaxial out or optical out. I recommend the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Sb1090 with Toslink optical audio out.
Another way, which won't wish any add-ons, is to use the headphone (3.5mm) jack on your laptop to the Rca (red and white) inputs on your Tv or receiver. To do this, all you need is a 3.5mm to 2 Rca adapter with a 2 Rca audio cable.
